TREASURES IN TIME PRODUCTIONS
PRESENTS DR. KEN HANSON IN:

"Making Murder Legal: The Nazi Campaign of Genocide"

Dr. Ken Hanson, Yad Vashem graduate and assistant professor in the Judaic Studies Program of the University of Central Florida, performs as Martin Niemoller, the famous German theologian who was ultimately arrested by the Nazis and who authored the famous quotation:

When they came for the communists, I remained silent; because I was not a communist...When they came for the Jews, I did not speak out; because I was not a Jew.  When they came for me, there was no one left to speak out.

Changing costumes on stage, Dr. Hanson "becomes" Niemoller, as he explains the dangerous ideology that drove the Nazi campaign of "ethnic cleansing." More than a lecture, it is a dramatic presentation, which nonetheless conveys important insight into the minds of the ideologues who, in the heart of modern Europe, made murder legal. Could it happen again?

Special thanks to George Noory and all the fine folks at Coast to Coast AM for all the great shows!  And a real appreciation to all the listeners and callers who made the night so memorable.  Be sure to email Dr. Hanson with any questions for more in-depth analysis not discussed during the evening.

Special thanks to the University Club of Winter Park for the warm reception.

"A couple of long time members of the University Club told me that they thought your presentation was the best they had ever seen at the Club. I have been a member for three years, and have heard many good presentations, but none as spellbinding and captivating as yours.  There was complete silence throughout your presentation and the audience was focused on you. The people were entranced. I like the rest found it informative, interesting and entertaining, as I have found your other presentations."
– Joe Levy, University Club of Winter Park

"On behalf of the University Club of Winter Club, I want to thank you very much indeed for your splendid presentation at our dinner on May 26.  Everyone, including many who had seen and heard you before, was delighted by your new Scrolls show. Like me, they enjoyed every minute of your production and are grateful for all the time, talent, and effort that made it possible. Congratulations!"
Jerry Schiffhorst, professor emeritus, University of Central Florida

“A charming, fast-paced show that had the audience alternately enthralled and laughing!  Hanson took his audience on a saga through the discovery of the Scrolls. Reinforcing his 90 minute monologue with an ever-changing array of images …”
– Richard Gleick, "Central Florida Heritage"

Dr. Hanson dramatically portrays an extraordinary group of characters, each of whom played an important role in bringing to light the Dead Sea Scrolls. These include a shepherd boy, Muhammad, who had the daring to explore a lonely cave and discover the first of the scrolls, an antiquities dealer named Kando, who could sell ski jackets to desert Bedouin, and the famed Yigal Yadin, who had a secret plan for winning the bidding-war to acquire the parchments on behalf of the State of Israel. In an adventure resembling a Spielberg film, Dr. Hanson leads you on a spellbinding journey, to the cradle of civilization!
